Oak Bluffs, MA – March 18, 2025 – Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) is proud to host the Second Annual Waylon Madison Sauer Memorial 3v3 Basketball Tournament on Sunday, April 6th, celebrating Waylon’s legacy through a day of spirited competition and community connection.
Teams of teens and adults from across the Island will compete in a three-game guarantee tournament starting at 10:00 AM. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals at 11:30 AM, followed by the championship game at 12:15 PM.
Local businesses and families are invited to support the MVRHS Class of 2025 in raising funds for the Waylon Madison Sauer Scholarship Fund by sponsoring the tournament in Waylon’s memory. The sponsorship form can be found here.
“Last year’s tournament was an incredible success, bringing together friends, family, and the community to honor Waylon in a way that truly reflected his love for basketball and his impact on those around him,” said Tayna Silva ,senior class president and tournament organizer. “We are proud to continue this tradition, celebrating Waylon’s legacy while uniting our community for another great day of competition and camaraderie.”
A special recognition of sponsors, supporters, and teams will take place at noon, leading into the championship matchup. The event will conclude with a closing celebration at 12:30 PM.
Community members are invited to attend. Snacks and beverages will be available, with limited seating until the semi-final rounds.
