On Wednesday our MVRHS track teams were well represented at the Massachusetts Division 4 State Championship track meet.
Participating in a state divisional championship meet requires an athlete to run/throw/jump a pre-set qualifying time to be invited, in other words simply making it to “states” proves that an athlete has a level of skill and competitiveness that the majority of track in field athletes in the state strive to achieve but few actually attain.
In the divisional meet the top 8 athletes in each event score points, but to advance on to the Massachusetts State Championship an athlete must place in the top 4 in their event or if they place outside of the top 4 run/throw/jump a time distance that would have placed them in the top 4 of any other divisional meet.
The following athletes participated in the State meet, if you see them around be sure to congratulate them for a great season.
