On behalf of the many MVRHS community members who served on our hiring committees, I am incredibly excited to announce these new hires/staffing shifts to you all. Please know that this is not an exhaustive list. There are a few positions not formally filled yet, and we will announce these soon.
Current staffing shifts:
- Julie Meader has moved to a year round ASP** position. She will stay in the front office and will take on the full year management of the student demographic data, the free and reduced lunch, the attendance and she will serve as the primary point of contact to families via phone/dropins/questions.
- Brumelha Magri has transitioned from an ESP* to an ASP. She will continue to support Julie in front office management, but will also expand her role in supporting students and families in our Portuguese speaking community.
- Meghan Houghton will leave her ESP position and will join the Special Education Department as a teacher.
- Leah Palmer is moving into our building and continues her work as the District Director of English Language Learning. She will occupy the office near the cafeteria.
- Kate Hennigan will be returning full time and teaching English.
- Sami Kyrzanowski will continue at MVRHS this year.
- Jack O’Malley has expanded his role and now not only is teaching Culinary but will now be our CTE director. We are so excited to have him on board in this new role. Jack knows this program and its teachers inside and out. He will help us maintain the great improvement begun under Barbara-jean, as well as strengthen the senior year ‘four block’ co-op experience for students who are looking to deepen work based experiences in their chosen trade.
- Heather Rogers-Rodrigues will be re-joining us as the Coordinator of Special Education at the high school.
- Jonah Kaplan-Woolner will be joining us full time in the ESL department.
New staff hires:
- We are thrilled to welcome Sam Hart as a new administrator in the building. Sam will be the Coordinator of Pathways and Special Projects. His scope of work will support our CTE program and forge partnerships with community and educational organizations as well as support dual enrollment opportunities and pathways to graduation for students who seek alternatives. Sam will also bring great energy and leadership to our vision for a renovated and improved facility.
- Sheila McHugh has completed her internship and will now be taking over for Michelle Lynch in the Guidance Department.
- Sheryl Taylor will be joining us to work with students and staff as our Student Intervention Coordinator in the Student Affairs Office.
- Michael Savoy is replacing Linda Leonard in the school nursing role.
- Ray Fallon replaces Michael Tinus as our band teacher and band leader.
- Kiely Rigali joins the staff as a Special Education teacher.
- Madison Straus joins us in the Health and PE Department.
- Jennifer LaValley joins us as a full time Adjustment Counselor in our Compass program.
- Liane Dixon joins our Health and PE Department
- Rebecca Laird joins the Performing Arts Department as a part time orchestra teacher.
- Luiza Mouzinho will join our staff 2.5 days as a bi-cultural and bi-lingual Mental Health Counselor.
- Mary Korba will join us as a communication specialist on an ASP line.
We also will have an Early Childhood Education teacher join our CTE department to offer two ECE classes to our students. Project Headway will move into our building in the former staff lounge and will serve as a lab space for our ECE students to gain hands-on experiences.
