The 11th annual Peer Outreach retreat took place on October 26th and 27th. 40 new students who were identified by their peers as people that others turn to for help with their problems were nominated to take part in the program. Nominees attend this intensive 2 day training to enhance their listening and communication skills and learn how to take care of themselves while being a support for their friends. Through a series of games and activities students are taught the appropriate skills that can help them help their fiends more effectively. Participants also learn their limits as helpers, particularly the issues that they can not handle and should immediately seek adult support. 13 seniors who have previously attended the training facilitated the program along with faculty members Amy Lilavois, Mike McCarthy, Nell Coogan, Kevin McGrath and Erin Slossberg.
