Davin Tackabury and Emily Weyl Win National Awards
Congratulations to MVRHS sophomore Davin Tackabury and freshman Emily Weyl who won national awards at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in New York City last week! Davin won a Gold Medal for his photograph, "Coexist" and a Silver Medal for his photo, "Foreigner". Freshman Emily Weyl won a Silver Medal for her photo, "Tears in Her Eyes". Davin's gold medal piece is being shipped to New York to be shown in a special gallery exhibit there. (It's currently on exhibit at Tufts.) He also intends to attend the big national ceremony at Carnegie Hall in June. Huge Congratulations to the following students for their participation (and awards) at the South Shore Regional Science Fair held at Bridgewater State University on Saturday. Curtis Fisher: Engineering A Modular Platform for the Deploymant of Node-based Environmental Sensor Networks 1st Place Award Sea Education Scholarship Award Vito Aiello: Designing A Combined Solar-Hydroelectric Power System Honorable Mention Curtis and Vito competed against 123 projects from 23 different schools. The MVRHS Yearbook website is live!
