Seabreezes receives highest award from the National Council of Teachers of English
2019 RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE IN THE ART AND LITERARY MAGAZINES, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has presented MVRHS with the highest award in Massachusetts (REALM First Class) for the 2019 edition of Seabreezes. The award recognizes the extraordinary efforts of Faculty Advisors: William McCarthy and Chris Baer, and Student Editors: Astoria Hall, Emma Van Lohuizen, Blake Leasure, Amelia Kyburg-Abbott, Amelia Simmons, Meredith Carlomagno, Chesca Potter, Molly Carroll, Davin Tackabury, Caroline Hurley, and Tyla Packish. MVRHS Students win 2020 Massachusetts Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
Congratulations to the following 24 MVRHS Art, Design, & Technology students, who won a total of 31 awards at the 2020 Massachusetts Scholastic Art and Writing Awards this year, in categories including ceramics, digital art, painting, photography, and video game design. When you see them, be sure to congratulate them! The six Gold Key works will be exhibited at Breed Memorial Hall at Tufts University in March, and go on to New York City for national competition. Up and Running! Track and Fields Project
The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) today submitted Phase 1 of its overall master plan to rehabilitate the high school’s athletic fields and buildings to the Oak Bluffs Planning Board (OBPB) and the Martha’s Vineyard Commission (MVC). The MVC’s review is pending referral from the OBPB. The submission follows a feasibility study of the entire athletic campus, prompted by the closure of the track due to safety concerns. The resulting master plan was developed by Huntress Associates, a landscape, architectural, engineering and planning firm in Andover, MA. Dear MVRHS Community, Happy New Year to all. We look forward to seeing you all back at MVRHS on Monday, January 6 to kick off a great 2020. As many of you know, the Tisbury School will be reunited at their campus starting Monday, January 6. Hosting them at the high school was a true pleasure.
