Dear Parents/Guardians of current sophomores:
The MCAS are around the corner.
In order to receive a diploma and graduate from a Massachusetts public high school, all students must earn a passing score on the English (ELA), Math, and Biology MCAS tests this spring.
We are confident that your students are ready for these tests. That being said, as a school community, we want to create optimum testing conditions to promote strong test results for each individual student. Our teachers have been working with your student to prepare them for this testing. During the testing days, your student will begin testing at the start of the first period to create the most conducive testing situation. They will not be attending class during the testing period.
We need your help in encouraging your student to give their best effort during the testing period. It is important that all students are present on testing days. Please have them arrive at school on time. A well-rested student who has had a good night sleep will have the best chance to perform at their best. We will host a brief MCAS assembly with all the sophomores on Monday during FLEX, and the culinary department will cater a kickoff breakfast for all sophomores in our cafeteria on Tuesday before the first test.
Our hope is that each student will put forth their best effort on the assessment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact myself or your student’s guidance counselor.

O MCAS está por vir bem próximo!
Em ordem de se formar e receber um diploma de uma Escola Pública em Massachusetts MVRHS, todos os alunos devem obter uma nota mínima nos testes do MCAS: Inglês(ELA), Matemática, e Biologia nesta primavera.
Estamos confiantes de que os alunos estão prontos para estes testes. Dito isto, como uma comunidade escolar, queremos criar condições ótimas de testes para promover resultados positivos para cada aluno individualmente. Nossos professores têm trabalhado com os alunos para prepará-los para estes testes. Durante os dias de teste, o aluno começará os testes no primeiro período escolar para criar uma rotina de teste mais propícia. Eles não compareceram às aulas regulares durante o período de teste MCAS.
Precisamos de sua ajuda para incentivar seu filho(a) a dar o melhor de si durante o período desse teste. É importante que todos os alunos estejam presentes nos dias de teste MCAS. Por favor, faça-os chegar na escola a tempo. Um aluno bem descansado que tenha tido uma boa noite de sono terá a melhor chance de apresentar e dar o melhor desempenho. Na segunda-feira, durante o FLEX, realizaremos uma breve montagem do MCAS com todos os alunos sophomores, e o departamento de culinária oferecerá um café da manhã para todos os alunos (sophomores) em nosso refeitório na terça-feira antes do primeiro teste.
Nossa esperança é que cada aluno se esforce ao máximo na avaliação. Se você tiver alguma dúvida ou preocupação, entre em contato comigo mesmo ou com o conselheiro de seu filho(a).

- Inglês (ELA) – 28 e 29 de março
- Matemática – 16 e 17 de maio
- Biologia – 6 e 7 de junho
