I am an MVRHS student who is working on a capstone project with an objective to provide back-to-school supplies to elementary students and offset the costs for both families and teachers who are paying for back-to-school supplies.
As you may know, many families on island are not able to provide their children with the necessary back-to-school supplies to start the school year off right. Not being able to provide may cause stress on both families and kids, and may affect the academic performance or future success of elementary students. Right now, from the Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools, about 700 kids are low income. Our estimation for one back-to-school kit is about $40. The objective for my project is to benefit all 700 of these Martha’s Vineyard Public School students.
The objective is a part of a Capstone project I am working on to provide families with the proper back-to-school supplies for free. I am organizing various ways to raise money or obtain actual back-to-school supplies from backpacks, notebooks, pens or pencils. Any contribution you are able to offer would be appreciated, and is part of offering change for kids on Martha’s Vineyard, exemplifying your want to make the most for Vineyard residents. Your company’s kindness will be recognized by those who benefit from the project: we are able to make sure your business is publicly acknowledged for your contribution.
Our fundraising goal is $14,000.
Contributions can be mailed to the address below. If you’d like to contribute in the form of a check, it can be made out to “Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School”.
