Dear MVRHS Community,
Like the rest of the island, we are experiencing an uptick in COVID cases at MVRHS.
What we are doing:
- Rapid testing sick individuals in the school community
- Running PCR tests twice a week
- Distributing rapid tests for at home usage
- Making KN95 masks available through the nurses office for anyone who wants one.
- Ensuring that individuals in day 6-10 of a COVID infection are masked during the school day.
What you can do:
- Vaccinations are the best protection against serious cases of COVID.
- Wear a KN95 mask if you are concerned about your own health or others.
- Be an active member of our free weekly PCR testing program.
- Those enrolled in the school PCR testing program should continue to text weekly – either Wednesday or Thursday anytime from 9 AM – 12:45 PM in the front lobby. If you would like to enroll in weekly PCR testing at school, click here.

- Stay home if experiencing any of the following:
- Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills.
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- New loss of taste or smell
- Muscle aches or body aches
- Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough)
- Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea when in combination with other symptoms
- Headache when in combination with other symptoms
- Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms
- Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms
- If symptoms develop, we encourage PCR testing if possible.
- PCR testing is the most accurate way to detect COVID. At-home tests are convenient, but are proving to be less reliable, particularly in the first few days of infection.
- PCR testing is available through Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (call 508-684-4500) and the school’s PCR testing program.
