Learn. Earn. Prepare for Your Future.
The Work Study Program at MVRHS gives students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while earning academic credit. The program helps you to explore career options, build essential workplace habits, and strengthen teamwork & problem solving skills.
What is Work Study?
Work Study allows eligible juniors and seniors in good academic standing, with strong attendance and guidance approval to work during school hours in a supervised, approved position. Students may participate in jobs related to their CTE program, career interests, or general employment that supports skill-building and professional growth. It’s a real-world experience with real responsibilities, but also real rewards.
Benefits of Work Study:
- Earn school credit while working
- Develop valuable job skills and professional habits
- Build a resume and get references for future employment or college
- Explore career pathways before graduation
- Gain confidence in real-world settings
What to Expect
You’ll work during your assigned blocks, and keep track of your hours – you’ll be expected to act professionally, show up on time, and do your best on the job. Throughout the semester, you’ll submit work logs to the Work Study Coordinator, complete a few short reflections or assignments, and get feedback from your employer.
How to Get Started:
- Talk to your guidance counselor or CTE teacher about your interest.
- Secure employment and complete the Work Study Packet applications.
- Meet with the Work Study Coordinator and submit required documents.
- Start working and earning credit toward graduation!
