The Farm Project won MV Local Wild Food Challenge!

by Kelsea Head

The Farm Project won Martha’s Vineyard Local Wild Food Challenge ! The crew harvested all week to create a Summer Bounty Salad with fried white baitfish & crickets (and a whole lot more!) served with an autumn olive and nasturtium stem vinaigrette, all of our ingredients were sourced from the island ( including the serving tray & dressing bowl).

We were lucky enough to have the help of some wonderful community members in creating this dish and would like to thank Christina Napolitan (we could not have done it without you!!), Jack O’Malley and Coop Gilkes for all their help!

We would also like to thank Bill and Sarah Manson for bringing the Local Wild Food Challenge to Martha’s Vineyard, we had a blast exploring our home in a new way and learning about exciting new foods we can gather and eat.

This video is a compilation of footage from our week of harvesting, and was submitted to the challenge to tell the story of our dish!
