Scholarship Updates: Local Application, MVYouth deadline, Section 3 scholarships, FAFSA

Please find the latest scholarship program updates below.
Local Scholarships: Have you Started your Online Application?
- If you haven’t already, be sure to create your online account and begin filling out your application for Local Scholarships (Section 1 and 2)! CLICK HERE TO CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
- By now, hopefully you have reviewed the Local Scholarship Booklet (you must be logged into your MVRHS Google account to access). This booklet contains all the information you will need on scholarship opportunities and outlines the scholarship process. Hard copies of the booklet are available in the guidance office.
MVYouth Deadline Reminder!
- If you are still waiting on your FASFA Report: Applicants are encouraged to submit their MVYouth application and email Executive Director, Lindsey Scott at lindseyscott@mvyouth.com once they receive their FAFSA reports.

Section 3 (Outside) Scholarships:
- Section 3 scholarships have their own applications, criteria and set of deadlines. Be sure to check out all of the scholarships listed in Section 3 of the Local Scholarship Booklet.
- If you need a mid-year transcript for a Section 3 scholarship, they will be available in the Guidance office starting next week (February 12th). Alternatively, you can email Mary Korba at schoalrships@mvyps.org to request your transcript.
- Many scholarships advertised in Section 3 have a fast-approaching deadline – do not delay in reviewing your options and be sure to get started on the applications!
- Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarship deadline – February 15th!
- Must be of Hispanic heritage
- U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the U.S., for the 2024-2025 academic year
- Apply online!
FAFSA Form:
- If you have yet to complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) please do so ASAP! You will need this information for your local scholarship application. Note: many are experiencing delays in receiving their FASFA report, so you are highly encouraged to start this process sooner than later!

- Need support with your local scholarship application? Sign up for ‘Senior Help’ Tuesday-Friday during Flex in the Guidance office – available through March 15th. Don’t wait until the last minute – help is here if you need it!
