Brief Description of job: I am helping kindergarteners learn the alphabet, numbers, basic social/behavioral skills, lots of silliness, playtime.
Like/dislike about internship/mentorship: I loved my mentorship because it allowed me to work with children hands on. I learned how to resolve little conflicts and promote kind behaviors, and how to act like a six year old again…I have never felt happier than I did when I played on the jungle gym with the kids…they’re so pure and imaginative. I felt really welcomed by the teachers (we all ate lunch together) and it was bittersweet to be back in the kindergarten classroom I attended with the same teachers.
Influence of job experience on post graduation life: My experience has only strengthened my desire to be an educator in some form…and to study child psychology…their loving and silly personalities seem to rub off on me.
