Arthur, Alyssa and Bobby are investigating what kinds of natural predators (for example, Praying Mantis) would be best at controlling greenhouse pests (for example, aphids) in the Horticulture Greenhouse. The project is in collaboration with Ms. Haranas and Mr. Neago.

Jordan Barbosa: Library Sign-in System
Jordan improved and redesigned the existing library sign-in system using a combination of PHP, MySQL, Javascript and CSS. It’s fully functional but he is still improving the system.
Tucker Cosgrove: Boards from Found Materials
For a while, Tucker has been building his own boards for board-sports. He made a longboard deck from a slab of an oak tree from his yard. He’s currently making a hollow wooden stand up paddle/surf board. In Mr. Coogans’ Crafts and Sculpture, he is forming a surfboard out of styrofoam he got from the drawbridge construction site.
Eben Peak, Patrick Perzanowski: Brooklyn Aeorodrome Flack Planes
Eben and Patrick are two of several students working on building model airplanes in one of Mr. Connors’ classes. One of Eben’s areas of expertise is in 3D printing. He is working on making a custom flack motor mount to fit the Brookyn Aerodrome Company‘s model.

Kate Sudarsky: 3D Printer Filament from Recycled Bottles
Kate’s project is to build a machine that, controlled by an Arduino, will grind up used PLA plastic bottles, heat them to 325 C, to create 1.75mm filament to be used in 3D printers.
