Olivia is turning her lens toward the changing seasons, photographing several spots on the island over time. Her time-lapse photography reflects her interest in phenology (the study of the seasons). She is researching how photography can be used a tool to study phenology.
Daniel has started his own business, Sea Blue Company, which helps recruit and connect “blue economy”, or maritime businesses with job seekers. He is researching how to build an active maritime job recruitment agency.
Ali taught herself how to make ravioli, and the results were outstanding. She is interested in selling her ravioli commercially. In addition to testing and developing new recipes, she is researching the history of dining customs in American history.
Lucy is interested in how positive daily interactions are an attribute of leadership. She has asked 40 people to share personal reflections of a person who has influenced them in a positive way, and plans to publish the essays in a book.
Mary is hand-making and producing an original line of clothing. With the assistance of a successful local seamstress, she is learning new sewing techniques. She is researching how to most effectively build her business and market her products.
Natalija is developing a design for reflective pajamas, to help aid emergency responders in locating a child or person in need when in a house fire. She is researching the feasibility and marketability of her product, including applying for a patent. She believes her pajamas will save lives.
