More than ever, storytelling is an essential and critical skill for everyone. Whether applying for a job, pitching an idea, or delivering a memorable message, storytelling is how to make your voice heard. Your ability to tell and deliver a compelling narrative helps across disciplines and in just about any future plans you may have , including developing leadership skills, making an effective presentation, branding yourself, and making your job application rise to the top.
Tabi Haller-Jorden, our facilitator for the day, is a renowned futurist and strategic advisor to governments, companies and schools around the world on the future of work and social justice. Please see her attached bio and check out her TED talk.
We have a unique opportunity to work with Ms. Haller-Jorden on April 30th for this in-school field trip. You will be excused from your classes and spend the day in the library, LCR and the courtyard.
We have invited you because you’ve been nominated by a faculty member.
You’ll learn:
- How to become a more agile and creative thinker
- How to effectively interview
- How to make an effective and engaging presentation for an audience
- How to apply these skills in the workplace and build on your existing communications skills
The day includes:
- Hands-on activities in a “World Cafe” set-up in the library and courtyard
- Small and large group discussions as well as role plays
A light breakfast and lunch are included!
This promises to be a very memorable and high-energy learning experience and we’re looking forward to your active participation.
