Commonly known as a tool for citing sources, Noodletools is also useful for organizing research. Tools for notetaking, annotating, outlining, and more are included and can be shared with teachers and peers. All students and staff at MVRHS have access through our school subscription. Use with your students to learn about plagiarism. Detect plagiarized source material as they submit papers to you. Includes additional features to make grading papers and sharing comments easier. See this screencast to get started.

Loom is an easy and free screen recorder for Mac, Windows, and Chromebooks. Record your camera and screen with audio directly from your Chrome browser and share.
Screencastify
Record, edit, and share screencasts. Get the unlimited version for free using code CAST_COVID.
Video
WeVideo [subscription]
This is an online video editor that you and/or your students can use through our subscription at MVRHS. Assign students to work on videos remotely. They can use it individually, or collaboratively in pairs or groups. Contact Kevin McGrath if you’re interested in using it with your students.
Flipgrid
Flipgrid is a simple, free, and accessible video discussion experience. Post a video or other material and have your students respond with videos of their own. It’s free for educators.
EdPuzzle
Share videos with your students and embed questions and/or voiceovers to engage them. Track your students’ answers and progress. Free to use.
Interactive Lessons
Nearpod [subscription]
Access Nearpod by logging in with your “mvrhs” account. Create interactive lessons to engage and track student progress while you’re with them on Zoom, or at their own pace.
Padlet
Create collaborative message boards for your students. The first three boards are free. Otherwise, it requires a subscription.

The New York Times
The New York Times is offering free access to students and staff from now until July 6th. You along with your students should see an email invitation to create free accounts. If not, and you’re interested, please let Kevin McGrath know.

Through this Gale database, students can manipulate and explore 3D interactive models to visualize and understand concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science. Reference and periodical content provide additional context for further understanding.

Newslea is offering complimentary access to their ELA, Social Studies, Science, and Social Emotional Learning Collections through the 2019/2020 school year.
