Enjoy the wonderful creative talent on display from students in Mr. Sharkovitz’s Creative Writing Classes!
On the morning of Friday, January 15, we had an extraordinary opportunity to hear from members of our school as well as respond to video featuring KRS-One, Jeezy, and Spike Lee speaking about the current issues surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. Our panel consisted of Principal Peg Regan, Wade Johnson, Carolyn Miller, Sergeant Mike Marchand, and Chief Eric Blake of the Oak Bluffs Police Department.
We are very grateful to Brenda DeOliveira (class of 2016) who provided many of these photos, and to Lawrence Layton who provided video and inspiration
Seniors interested in being one of a long tradition of daring and creative Senior Project pioneers should let Ms. Bennett know by submitting a proposal. The deadline for submissions is 12:00AM on Monday February 1st.
2015 On Monday and Tuesday we had the pleasure of hosting project displays from students on a wide range of subjects.
It was amazing to see not only the product of students’ work, but also to see their process. Since many (most!) of the projects are works in progress, sharing of their work not only inspired the students who visited, but it also helped move the projects forward by engaging peers and faculty in conversations around their various subjects.
Thanks to Mr. Connors for organizing this great event. Thank you to everyone who recommended these students, encouraged them to share their work, and brought classes. Especially, thanks to the following students for participating!
Some of the following are posted.
Check out these amazing solo performances by the Capoeira group of Martha’s Vineyard in the library on Friday, featuring performers from Martha’s Vineyard, Boston, and Brazil. This was part of the annual Brazilian-American Friendship lunch, sponsored by Elaine Weintraub’s Brazilian History & Culture Class.
