Dear Parents and Students,
We really miss you all! Although we cannot have direct interaction, we are all committed to maintaining contact, continuing learning, and offering support during this potentially isolating time.
ACADEMICS: All teachers have been asked to reach out to you via google classroom or email by the end of day on Friday March 20th. Many have already done so. If this does not happen by the end of the day Friday, please email jlight@mvyps.org and he can assist you in getting in touch with the appropriate teachers. Teachers have also been asked to post learning resources and opportunities starting Monday, March 23.
The goal and purpose of any work assigned by the teachers is to keep your skills sharp, review any material needed for future use, and limit academic regression. Your teachers expect that, although the work will not ultimately count toward your grade, you will complete it and turn it in so that they can give you timely feedback.
We have received a lot of questions about third quarter grades and what will happen to the fourth quarter if the closure is extended. We don’t have an answer for you at this time. When we do, we will reach out with the details.
TECHNOLOGY: We have Chromebooks available for families who need them. They can be picked up in the front lobby this Monday, March 23 from 9am-10am. If you cannot be there at that time please email bchauvin@mvyps.org and she can arrange for the device to be delivered to you or picked up at another time. Another resource available to you is a free public hotspot for free wi-fi. The link is https://wifi.xfinity.com/.
FACILITIES ACCESS: Most staff and ALL student/public access to the building will be restricted at this time. That includes fields, track, and any part of school property. We need to allow our custodians to concentrate their cleaning efforts on the kitchen and other areas of the building. There will be limited staff in the building during the hours of 10:30-1:30 to support school operations. If you need to get in touch with someone, please call @ 508-693-1033 ext. 113.
WEBSITE and RESOURCES: Our response to the COVID-19 is on our website at www.mvrhs.org. Here you can find updates, letters from the superintendent and our daily lunch menu. Lunch is available to all students and families from 11:00-1:00. Please do not hesitate to stop by and grab a lunch to go.
OUTREACH: We will be making many, many direct phone calls home in order to check on students and families. We want to be sure everyone is aware of the technology, food and support resources we have available. We are here to help in any capacity for your well being. If you need any support or know of anyone needing extra support please email dwarren@mvyps.org.
At this time it is important to practice social distancing. Please do not treat this as a snow day or simply vacation. We ALL need to do our part in limiting any outbreak. Keep your distance from friends and spend some time reviewing school work, catching up on scholarship applications, spending time with loved ones, and just taking a mental and physical break from the fast-paced world we live in today.

Prezados pais e alunos,
Sentimos muito a falta de tê-lo no prédio da escola dia após dia. Embora não possamos ter interação direta, ainda gostaríamos de continuar aprendendo durante esses tempos desafiadores e sem precedentes. Também entendemos que o aprendizado remoto não substituirá a instrução direta, mas é vital continuar aprendendo dia após dia. Agradeceríamos o apoio de pais e alunos participando do trabalho designado pelos professores.

O objetivo do trabalho designado pelos professores é manter suas habilidades afiadas, revisar qualquer material necessário para uso futuro e limitar a regressão acadêmica. Seus professores esperam que, embora o trabalho não seja importante para a sua nota, você o entregará para que eles possam dar um feedback oportuno.
Recebemos muitas perguntas sobre as notas do terceiro semestre e o que acontecerá com o quarto semestre se o fechamento for prolongado. No momento, não temos uma resposta para você. Quando o fizermos, entraremos em contato com os detalhes.
TECNOLOGIA: Temos aparelhos tecnológico disponível para ser entregue no escritório da recepção da escola nesta segunda-feira, das 9h às 10h. Se você não puder estar lá naquele momento, envie um e-mail para bchauvin@mvyps.org e podemos providenciar que o aparelho seja entregue a você ou entregue em outro momento. ACESSO AO PRÉDIO ESCOLAR: A maioria dos funcionários e todo o acesso de estudantes ao prédio escolar serão restritos no momento. Isso inclui campos e qualquer parte da propriedade da escola. Neste momento, é importante praticar o distanciamento social. Por favor, não trate isso como um dia de neve ou simplesmente férias. Todos devemos fazer nossa parte para limitar qualquer surto. Mantenha distância de seus amigos e passe algum tempo revisando o trabalho da escola, atualizando as solicitações de bolsas de estudos, passando tempo com os entes queridos e apenas dando uma pausa mental e física no mundo acelerado em que vivemos hoje.
