School Events Week of June 6th

Dear MVRHS Community,

We are excited to share with you two exciting school-wide events coming up next week for students. These events take place during regularly scheduled school days and student attendance is required.

June 6th – Annual Class Cups/ Field Day

June 10th – First ever Day of Dialogue: a social justice conference

Monday, June 6th is a half day and our annual Class Cups/Field Day, focused on community and team building. The half day schedule begins at 7:40 am and ends at 11:00 am. Please all parents and guardians be aware that this is NOT an optional school day and all students (with the exception of seniors) are expected to be in attendance.

On Friday, June 10th, we are hosting our first ever Day of Dialogue: a social justice conference. There are over 50 community members and organizations participating. Students will be learning from an amazing collection of Island activists and leaders in their respective fields on topics from affordable housing to climate change to racial equity to women’s rights and beyond.

This is an amazing opportunity that we want all of our students to experience. The daily schedule remains the same – starting at 7:40 am and ending at 2:05 pm as normal. Once again, please all parents and guardians be aware that this is NOT an optional school day and all students (with the exception of seniors) are expected to be in attendance.

A note for all seniors: If you would like to participate in the June 10th day, please arrive in the PAC lobby by 7:45 am for the keynote address and someone will be available to help you sign up for available workshops.

Thank you,

Sara Dingledy, Principal
