If you are registered for Dual Enrollment, Honors 12, or C1 English 12 E or F period, this email is specifically for you.
As many of you are aware, we are offering several exciting and interesting English options for seniors. These classes are offered E & F periods, so seniors can have a wide option of other challenging academic courses, interesting and diverse electives, and work study and internship opportunities.
In order to make this work for the students and the teachers, the students have to be equally distributed between E & F periods. Students can not overload F period because they want Open Campus E period. We can not run an English class, regardless of the level, with 25 or more students F period, and have the same class and the same teacher be a part of a class with less than 20 students E period.
Because this is the case, many students that had an Open Campus E period now have their English class scheduled during E block. We will obviously not move a student that has another academic class or a unique elective to balance the section numbers, but Open Campus will be something that is moved to achieve balanced class rosters.
All students are obviously starting their senior English class on Wednesday. Guidance will make no English level changes on Wednesday. All students must attend the English class they currently have listed on their schedule.
Also, we have just added another English class to F block which will fulfill a semester of a senior English requirement. Creative Writing will be offered (at the Honors and CA level) for seniors. Any senior interested should reach out to their guidance counselor beginning Wednesday.
