Hello Families and Caregivers of Seniors!
If your senior is planning to apply to college, at some point you will need to fill out the FAFSA, which is the federal form that ALL students need to complete if they wish to be considered for any type of financial aid. The FAFSA is also required for students who wish to apply for local scholarships later this year. We know this can seem like a daunting process if you have never done this before, but we promise you’ll get through it and it won’t be as bad as you thought!
To help you, we are passing along some incredibly useful information directly from MEFA (Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority) who is our go-to source for all things financial aid! If you haven’t checked out their website yet…don’t wait!! https://www.mefa.org/
If your student has Early Action deadlines, be sure to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible! It is likely that the college requires that the FAFSA be completed at the same time as the application! Check the colleges websites under admissions requirements for more information.
In order to complete the FAFSA, your student needs to create a FSA ID first (their own FAFSA account). Here is the FAFSA website that will walk you through the steps: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

Se o seu aluno tem prazos de ação antecipada, certifique-se de preencher o FAFSA o mais rápido possível! É provável que a faculdade exija que o FAFSA seja preenchido ao mesmo tempo que a inscrição! Verifique os sites das faculdades em requisitos de admissão para obter mais informações.
