Your child is currently enrolled in one or more Advanced Placement (AP) courses at MVRHS.
Our Advanced Placement Program is offered to students so that they may possibly earn college credits /course waivers and experience a rigorous college curriculum here at our high school. For this reason, the student’s commitment to this course of study must be earnest. MVRHS requires all AP students to take the corresponding AP exam(s) in the spring.
During the weeks of May 4-8, 2020 and May 11-15, 2020, we will be administering the AP exams to your child. Here is the link to the schedule.
The cost for each exam is $94.00. Please make your check payable to MVRHS and indicate the name of your child / # of exam(s) being taken on the check memo line. Ask your child to bring the check to Mr. Light’s office no later than November 1 , 2019. Students enrolled in the Free/Reduced Lunch program are eligible for a discounted rate. Please email me if you would like to pursue this option. I would then verify eligibility with the school nurse and be in touch about the discounted rate.
Please plan around the testing dates/times and realize that taking the exam is required to earn the “AP” designation on the MVRHS transcript. Exams will not be rescheduled due to sports, clubs, or other extracurricular activities. Please be mindful of these dates/times. On average – an exam runs 3.5 hours. Some run shorter/longer depending on the number of sections/parts to each test. Please do not make arrangements for your child to try to make a noon ferry when testing in the morning or a 3:45 ferry when testing in the afternoon. Students can not be dismissed early. The morning exam starts at 8am and the afternoon exam starts at noon. Students are required to be in the exam room 30 minutes prior to the exam. A schedule of exam venues will be released in April and I will make every effort to proctor as many tests as possible at MVRHS.

Nosso Programa de Cursos Avançado(AP) é oferecido para estudantes que queiram receber créditos para faculdade e experimentar como seria uma aula de faculdade aqui na MVRHS. Por essa razão, o aluno tem que estar decidido em se dedicar ao máximo nessas aulas. A MVRHS exige que o aluno faça um teste avaliativo na primavera para ver se ele está apto para participar das aulas de nível avançado no próximo ano.

Por favor planeje o seu horário de acordo com o dia e a hora do teste, e lembre-se que é um requerimento em fazer o teste para conseguir a designação de “AP” no seu curriculum. Exames não serão remarcado por causa de esportes, clubes ou atividades extracurriculares. Por favor seja consciente que em média esses testes têm a duração 3.5 horas. Algumas vezes mais outras vezes menos dependendo da quantidade de sessões/partes de cada teste. Não faça planos para tentar pegar a balsa das 12 for de manhã ou a balsa das 3:45 quando o teste for à tarde. Os alunos têm que chegar 30 minutos mais cedo do horário marcado para início do teste.
