On Thursday, April 14th, 14 employers from across the Island gathered in the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) Culinary Arts Dining Room to share job and career opportunities with MVHRS juniors and seniors. Smaller than in years past, this year’s fair was intended to focus on career exploration with a target population of high school students who show interest in a career pathway. Students from the Public Charter School also attended.
Participating employers represented a wide range of industries including agriculture, culinary arts, environmental, healthcare, hospitality, retail, trades, transportation, renewable energy, and law enforcement (a full list can be found below). The 2022 Career and Job Fair was put on by MVRHS in partnership with ACE MV Adult & Community Education.
“As a community partner, we recognize the importance and necessity for our students to explore their career interests as they develop an understanding of the world of work….and what better place to do that than here on the Vineyard. After the last two years of our collective displacement, it is heartening to know that kids have lots of options and that the high school(s), ACEMV, and the island-wide business community, are ready to assist in this effort.” Richard White, District Manager, Soft As A Grape Inc.
